Walter Coddington

The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) engaged Walter Coddington to create and manage the first global advocacy and public relations campaign (called Face to Face) to build UN donor country public and political awareness of and support for the equality and rights of women in developing countries.
Coddington recruited population and development NGOs and celebrity spokespersons in 13 UN donor countries; together generating more media coverage and public awareness of women's human rights issues in three years than was generated by the UN in all 30 years prior to the campaign.

Finnish singer/songwriter and humanitarian Mikko Kuustonen has help champion the rights of women and children for UNFPA, Face to Face campaign partner Vaestoliitto and Plan International.

Dr. Biolek was already an advocate for women and development and regularly covered the issues on his TV show -- one of the most popular shows in Germany.

Goedele Liekens is a well-known television personality in Belgium. Ms. Liekens, together with Face to Face campaign partner Sensoa, produced several made-for-television documentaries for UNFPA. She has reported on AIDS and fistula in Africa and women in the refugee camps of Pakistan.
